I have got 5 year account free special offer as a new client. The stuffs are friendly and nice to international students. They speak English. A male customer manager helped me to open my debit and credit account with patience. The App of HypoVereinsbank is also English friendly. I can choose its interface with English or German at the first time login. Highly recommend for new comers and foreigners in Germany.

The staff at the Eppendorf branch are incredibly helpful and highly competent. I'm a frequent visitor to the branch, both personally and for work, and I've never encountered a situation where a matter couldn't be handled or resolved. If you're dissatisfied with your current bank or don't feel you're receiving good advice, I highly recommend scheduling an appointment in Eppendorf. And be sure to ask about their new customer offers and loyalty program; they also offer free accounts and credit cards. 😃

Disgusting bank, and the employees are sometimes unfriendly. I keep getting letters saying I have income in the US—are you out of your mind?! Why? I have to prove I don't have income in America (you must be smoking something, I think). And the fact that you have positive reviews here is just people—newbies. Feel free to close your finances; your bank and employees are terrible!
This bank is the absolute worst. You can call anytime, but you always end up waiting half an hour only to be told by an incompetent employee that she can't help you. You can't even get a direct line to the branch. I emailed the Ulm branch on Thursday saying I urgently needed a callback, and of course, no one called. From 9 am to 12 pm, they don't take customer concerns seriously and you won't get a call back. I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone. I'm closing my account and switching to Sparkasse Neu-Ulm, where you actually get service. And here, every service costs extra. Never, ever, never again...
Presumably friendly staff, but very, very difficult to reach. For several days, I haven't been able to reach a customer service representative by calling the branch number or the HVB hotline. At some point, I started timing the wait. The wait time now totals over 80 minutes. There's probably no available employee. Fun fact: they announce that at the end of the call, there will be two questions to rate the hotline. I've never gotten that far.

Is HypoVereinsbank even interested in new customers? I had to ask about opening an account, but my call was put on hold for 25 minutes! Sorry, but we're in the 21st century! Is HypoVereinsbank up-to-date? Unfortunately not! A bank can't operate like this.
