We started banking here two years ago because we were searching for a bank that we felt understood small business needs AND had the power to make important decisions at the branch level. Banking at the Lethbridge branch of the Canadian Western Bank is a pleasantly different experience. It's the personal working relationships we have with the staff that enable us to view the bank as a real partner in our business. The staff at this branch are outstanding. They all know us by name and treat us like family. The personal service we receive has far exceeded my expectations. They all go well out of their way to provide exceptional service. My fees are a fraction higher than what we were paying at our previous bank, but the value I get from banking here more than makes up for it. If you're looking for a bank that will really partner with you in business, I would highly recommend this branch.
This is a place that it is definitely worth your time to go visit if you are shopping for a new financial services business. Multifaceted banking at what has been for me as the best I have received during my life. Go have a visit and think about what they tell you vs where your at now and what you are expecting and think that over before you decide I am pleased I walked into here and I am pleased with my decision to open my banking there. The staff are all friendly and polite quite a pleasure to go in to the branch.I have never had any trouble finding a park that turned out being easier than I thought it would be. Basically I am very happy.
I couldnt be more happy with my new commercial bank. They treat you as their most important client each and every time. It's a great feeling and so helpful to my business. Thank you George and Charity.
Lara was such a great help in getting my internet banking to work properly. She was very professional and was relentless in making sure my problem was fixed.
I was out of town. I requested Jennifer to help me in two transactions and there were done right away. Thank you very much Jennifer. Ken
I wouldn't recommend CWB to anyone. Firstly, their policies don't make any sense. They set my daily withdrawal at $100 but then allowed me to receive above $100 cash back. CWB closed my account without my consent. Closure of my account resulted in me not receiving monies owed by the CRA. CWB gave me 30 days notice, which wasn't sufficient time to have my updated banking information processed by the CRA. This process can take up to two months.
I suggest that CWB makes some changes and allows for sufficient time to have customers update their banking information for direct deposits.
Overall, I wasn't satisfied with the service provided.
In regards to CWB's response.
I'm not certain which activities you're referring to as no one has discussed this with me. I had previously spoken to a staff member whose first name began with "M" (I cannot recall her full name) several weeks before Theresa contacted me. M claimed that my passport had expired and CWB needed me to submit a new ID. This se
I opened an account with National Bank of Canada recently, and the experience has been nothing but disappointing. After being told I had to wait 2 days before using e-transfer, I tried adding a recipient only to be blocked because I “must” enter debit card details—even though the debit card hasn’t even arrived yet.
Calling customer service was even worse. The wait time was supposed to be 10 minutes but took over an hour, and the representative simply repeated the same line without offering any real help or alternatives. Overall, very poor customer service and an unnecessarily complicated process. Definitely not the smooth banking experience I expected.
20+ years with CWB, and this transition was the breaking point
I’ve been a CWB customer for over 20 years, and the shift to National Bank has been extremely disappointing. Long wait times, and no real support during the transition. My accounts were frozen after the migration, and no one seemed able to help or provide clear answers.
This experience has completely eroded my trust. I won’t recommend National Bank or their services to anyone going forward.
As a previous National Bank customer, I stopped by this branch after noticing the new NBC signs. Curious about the changes, I walked in to check things out and see if I could now use all NBC transaction services here.
There was an employee who seemed to be a supervisor or manager. I explained why I stopped by, expecting some engagement or at least basic customer service. Instead, all he said was “ya.” That was it. No explanation, no welcome, no attempt to assist or even acknowledge me as a customer.
Honestly, I walked out thinking, “What the heck?” It was especially disappointing since it was their opening day. I didn’t feel like a valued customer at all, despite already being part of NBC.
This employee seriously needs to be taught basic customer service skills. A first impression like that reflects poorly not only on the branch but on NBC as a whole.
National Bank bought Canadian Western Bank. I have been unable to access any of the funds in the accounts since it switched. It took a month to book an appointment.
And they still couldn’t fix me. Very disappointed they haven’t been able to resolve anything at all in the last month.
I have an emailing and calling and trying to use their app to no avail.
The person at the branch couldn’t even transfer money into accounts.
Very disappointed with this company.
And NO ETA.
