Great staff. Always so helpful and make banking much easier. Have been part of Bendigo Bank for over two decades and can’t fault them.
Centrally located in Pier Street
I've been using this branch for the last 10 years... service has always been smooth, polite and, when needed, also personalised. That's exactly what I expect from the community oriented bank with friendly attitude. Good on you guys.
This is how a bank should be - did an international transfer yesterday - perfect professionalism
We started a child account at this branch years ago for my son who is now 17. Recently, I've had to go in a couple of times to sort things out on the account and app, and both times the staff in the branch have been very helpful. Shame to see the recent comments about the service, but I must say that in general, so far so good.
Personalised service par excellence, always go the extra mile to meet your finance and banking needs. I wish they remained open on Saturday mornings.

Their greed has no limits. I recently closed an account with them and needed access to digital copies of my account statements for legal reasons. After talking to the helpline and the Altona branch, it was clear that they would not email the documents or restore the statements to the e-banking portal (even though I'm still able to log in). Seriously?
We live in the Nuclear age where all of humankind can end with the press of a button, yet these people can't press a button to allow me to re-access my statements on the portal. For this task, they insisted on butchering a forest to give me paper versions of the statements. No, they can't email the statements to me since that would risk my privacy, even when I'm willing to sign a consent form. So i went to the Laverton Branch who charged me $30 (at $1.20 per page; single sided), and the statements were not even clear or in color (the guy from Altona branch did
I've been a customer of this bank for 10+ years. Throughout most of this time I've had a great relationship with the local team and with Bendigo Bank overall.
However, in the past 6-12 months there has been a big change in the customer service levels at this branch, and the competency of the staff.
There's also been a concerted push to force you to make an appointment, even when the branch isn't busy.
This is made much worse by the branch almost NEVER answering the phone. So you need two visits to get anything meaningful done as you can't pre-arrange an appointment.
In 2025, most of us only visit a bank branch when we need something complex done. This branch really needs to lift its game. Compared to two of the big four I've visited in the past few months, and also other Bendigo branches this branch is a long way behind.
The worst service from a Community Bank. Needed cash out, told I couldn’t and needed to order -6k. Totally fine, I mean what banks have cash right. Was asked numerous times from a condescending teller why I couldn’t just transfer the money. People really don’t need your bank to gatekeep our money. I was polite and said I could order and wait. Still nothing back since Wednesday. Rude staff members have no place in this industry. Give it a year and this branch will be closed ✔️
I have been a customer at this branch since ROD MAY started there as the original branch manager! Yesterday I raced to get to the bank in person to deposit a bank cheque, got there in time and was the male officer gleefully pointed to a sign stating that bank had closed WITHOUT PRIOR.NOTICE AT 2pm.due to staff issues! He recounted that due lack of staff the bank had a security issue! What a joke! I am a community pharmacist in North Carlton and we have security issues as well ( drugs of addiction on site plus Covid)! Banking is an essential service and needs to be open! The officer lacked common sense, no empathy and needs to be counseled by the Regional Management Team! I never get upset but this seems to be a new era of bad service banking. Lift your game! I’ve been a customer for over 15 year but it’s now to hard to get any service. I can’t understand why there is only one teller Filippo who does a great job by himself, and 3 management staff who stay in the office and don’t come out to assist. Since when do banks have a Siesta, closed for lunch now they close at 2pm for the day.
Time to look for a new BANK.
